INTERNET ASSIGNMENT 1
Working With Internet Explorer
To complete an assignment in history class, you must locate the Wikipedia website and select an individual whose biography is on the site. When you find the biography of your chosen individual, copy his or her picture and the text of the biography into WordPad, and then submit the WordPad document to the instructor.
Launch Internet Explorer.
Type wikipedia.org in the Address Bar and then press the ENTER key to display the Wikipedia home page.
Using the links on the site, browse or search for the biography of an individual in whom you are interested (Suggestions: Thomas Edison, Mia Hamm, Martin Luther King, George Lucas, Barak Obama, Elvis Presley, Oprah Winfrey, Eleanor Roosevelt).
Copy a picture of the individual to the Clipboard.
Launch Microsoft WordPad.
Paste the picture from the Clipboard into the WordPad document. Click anywhere off the picture and then press the ENTER key.
Switch back to the Internet Explorer window.
Copy the biography text to the Clipboard.
Switch to the WorkPad window.
Paste the text on the Clipboard into the WordPad document.
At the top of the document, insert the following:
CIS 1, Internet Assignment 1 today’s date
Save the WordPad document as Biography.rtf.
Copy the file that you created in your submittal folder.
Upload your file into the Internet Assignment 1 folder in the eCompanion drop box.
